The Four Crystal Leaders

The first ever threat of war in our world came when Jemmos was born. Our children learn about Jemmos in school and all they know that he was the first ever Huvar. Huvars are simply a cross between a human and a dewar. His unknown mother and father left him in front of the Trinity temple in our capital Norentia where he was raised by the priests, but was looked at with suspicion at first.

People saw this as an atrocity they thought of Jemmos as a demon; a freak of the gods. Many fanatical human and dewar organizations popped up like mushrooms protesting against this cross breed people, felt that since this was the only race that wasn’t a direct creation of the creator or any of the trinity gods it was unholy. It was only later when Jemmos reached the adult age that things began to change.

On a cold day Jemmos came out of the temple and walked amongst the people for the very first time. The people looked at Jemmos and fell silent. Calmly he walked to the center of the plaza in capital name and just stood there. It didn’t take long for a large crowd to gather it was then that Jemmos opened his mouth and started speaking. He spoke about the feelings he had for his race, his parents, the priests that took him in and the Trinity. His most famous quote was “If only our two races could create a new race only our joined efforts are god-like”.

Strange enough this one line was the eye-opener for both of the races it’s needless to say that Jemmos became the most famous leader of our world in history. He reigned over all of Ura with a soft hand for 200 years, the longest time of peace seen thus far. After a long period of gentle reign Jemmos died. Surely, he had made many attempts, but he was never blessed with a son.

His 4 advisors and closest friends, a human warrior, a human witch, a dewar alchemist and a dewar merchant gathered and sat around one of the palace tables.

The warrior spoke first “Naturally I should become the new leader, the people need a strong and battle-trained man to lead their lands to avoid the threats of war and protect them from the monsters.”

“Bah”, was the reply of the dewar alchemist “only with research and riches can our lands prosper. We’ve had peace for the last 200 years, by Bovol, we don’t need any warriors.”

The dewar merchant opened up his mouth and said “Wha are ye two fiddling about of course we need protection an’ of course we need to prosper naturally. Only a merchant of heart can achieve trade routes, wealth and at the same time provide the best weapons and armor to our defenses. So that leaves me as the next heir of the throne.”

The human witch looked at the men arguing and had her say “You men are always fighting and trying to demonstrate who’s the strongest or wisest. If we want Ura to truly live in peace a woman should be in charge and lead our people.”

But alas their quarrel couldn’t be resolved each former advisor gathered their followers and each of them took shelter in palaces of the former king in different regions of Ura. The human warrior had a plan to lead his well-trained followers to take Ura’s throne by force, however not all was going to plan; he didn’t have enough weapons for his army. To solve this he reluctantly approached the dewar merchant to strike a deal. He offered a position - governing the province of Rubrum - to the merchant in exchange for enough weapons to stock his army.

The merchant however declined the deal saying that he’d rather be torn apart by an Orgrim than make a deal with the warrior. This infuriated the warrior, and so, despite the lack of weapons, he sent his army marching across the scorching deserts of Rubrum. The army ran out of supplies before they even reached the merchant’s palace and thus had to retreat before the battle even began.

This gave the merchant and the two other advisors enough time to amass armies of their own many battles were fought to conquer the throne of Ura. After years and years of fighting the people started to get uneasy and sad. In the end, the people of Ura were downright furious, less and less people desired to go to war and soon thereafter the once grand armies dried out, laws were ignored and hatred ruled Ura.

At this time the former advisors came to their senses and gathered once more. After months of negotiating they decided to split the land into 4 kingdoms. Each of them realized that some resources could only be found in one of the three other kingdoms therefore they decided to create open trade routes since surely it would benefit them all. However, a status of peace was never accomplished and all four leaders who later named themselves the Crystal Leaders because of the properties of their lands, lived side by side but never in harmony. The threat of war still lingered in the air, with every ruler only looking for any sign of weakness in the other kingdoms to rekindle the conflict.

The people were happy again for the most part, as they could freely move from kingdom to kingdom and an illusion of peace was set by the Crystal Leaders of Ura. <may be wise to revise these in the near future>

Diamond King

Leader of the ice-covered lands to the North, the Adamao region, this Dewar king rose to power by leading the most powerful merchant guild in the Northern territories. The Diamond King appoints associates of his guild to lead the various cities throughout Adamao. Short tempered, always dressed in furs of the finest quality and his large wooly hat, the Diamond King tries to limit the rampant corruption found throughout his lands.

His kingdom reaches from the Northern Sea right to the mountains, in the middle of Ura.

Ruby King

Leader of the scorching hot lands in the South, the Rubrum region, constant heat and drought torture the barren lands. Little vegetation is found here but what this land lack above ground, it makes up for below it. Some of the most beautiful (and valuable) precious stones are found in Rubrum. Almost all cities and villages are built near oasis or some sort of mine. The Dewar king is dressed in the finest silk and his hands show off the precious spoils of his region. He almost never leaves his castle in the middle of the Rubrum region, indulging himself in riches and loosely controlling his people with taxes and silly laws. Probably the only reason why people still live in his kingdom is the fact that the riches found there are amazing and the lands hold many treasures. The Ruby King appoints regional leaders, dividing his kingdom into three regions: NorthEast, Central, and SouthWest.

Emerald King

Leader of the lush lands to the East, the region of Nofech, this Human King rules his lands in a soft, honest and pure way. His region has the most inhabitants due to it its fertility and balance. His empathetic reign is quite popular throughout the region, but he has his fair share of problems as well. Many thieves see Nofech as ripe for the picking, and the Emerald King has struggled to fully protect the hordes of merchants travelling throughout the region. He believes in his people, and thus employs a 3-7 member council to lead over each Nofech city.

Sapphire queen

Leader of the lands of the great river delta, Shadow lake and the huge waterfalls Iantha’s tears, the Human witch rules over the Gorundrum region using a combination of respect and fear. The Sapphire Queen has a non-existent tolerance for failure, and those who do not succeed can be at the mercy of her fluctuating emotions. Still, her being a powerful and highly attractive sorceress keeps her people in line, not to mention a creative propaganda campaign. The Queen employs an elite group of soldiers, the Aquanis, to be her enforcers throughout the region. She places a puppet leader who reports directly to the Queen to run each city.

Rich fishing grounds, beautiful architecture and wildlife are found in her lands. She holds her spell over cities such as Navall, Kaland and Tishwin.
