Dargon Worship

What I've basically done is organized what is needed into 3 categories, worship for normal Dargon followers, worship for chaotic Dargon followers, and for Trinity followers. The last section is some book ideas I had that might be interesting. Some of this stuff will overlap of course but it keeps some sort of order now.

Regular Worship

• The most common sacrifice to Dargon among his followers is that of arms. Swords, daggers, maces, etc of high value often litter his shrines.
• Those who have been to war are known to give weapons they used to slay the enemy as tribute to Dargon. They often feel that giving him the weapon will return the strength he lent them for battle.
• Women often pray that Dargon give their husband’s strength in battle.
• When a family member dies in battle their body is often burned before one of Dargon’s shrines. This ritual is old, its origins mainly forgotten, but the ritual is still observed to the letter by commoners and even Dargon worshiping nobles.
Story - A tradition among warriors who want to prove themselves to Dargon is the hunting of powerful beasts. Stories are told of rituals that have been done in the past after a powerful creature was killed in Dargon’s name a blessing would be given.

Chaotic Worship

• Thieves, instead of giving that which they loot to Dargon, often kill their victims to appease him.
• Before a fight one might draw their blood. This blood is a trade to them. For the blood Dargon will grant them strength and with that strength they will give Dargon more blood.
Story Sacrifice is one of the most feared of the chaotic rites. It is illegal but still preformed throughout Ura. Worshippers will take the poor, weak, or ‘unworthy’ and kill them after a set of prayers are complete. Usually the death will be dealt in a way that offers great suffering and large amounts of blood loss.
• Among the mad and sadistic are practices in which the blood of the slain is used for bath and drink. Those who practice this are usually of the highest prestige among the Dargon faction.

Trinity Worship

• Trinity churches worship Dargon equally as they do Bovol and Iantha.
• To them Dargon represents the darker emotions and feelings all of have. He is the necessary evil all men must contend with.
• After a fight or competition one may take weapon of the defeated/slain and offer it to Dargon in tribute of his aid in the battle. After war these tributes are made in mass.
• Sacrifices of black marble are rare but not unusual within Trinity temples.
Story - On holidays the greatest of bonfires are burned in his honor.
