Purpose: Distillery of liqueurs

The Amber alembic was set up in the Sea of Hills, right after the end of the period of wars that swept Ura. The house was built there by a married couple of huvars who were looking for a place away from the city where they could restart a brand new life after all of the losses they suffered during the wars. Dolberius Lharsan lived there and built up the house with the help of his wife. Then, using the running water nearby and being quite an expert in handling herbs and metal crafting, he set up a little laboratory to host an alembic and started to distill his own liquors. They had a couple of children and so Dolberius thought to enhance his production and to start selling his liquors. He decided to build a stable and used his savings to buy a Yiddi and a mule. Within a year he became famous enough for his high-quality products to begin regular circulation in both Vaern and Morgendil.

His sons learned how to run the distillery and took his place when he died, doing their best to make the Amber Alembic even better and world famous, as they succeeded in selling their best and costly liquors to all the courts in Ura. The two brothers actually ran the distillery, but it was the wife of the youngest among them (Lydica), who developed the area further. She thought it wise to build up a little tavern to allow the customers to taste their products in a convenient and relaxed way, instead of being forced to do it while standing in the laboratory. After some time spent discussing the subject, she contacted a couple of her cousins she was in touch with (Grondan and Hestorn). They agreed to come to live there and run the tavern.

Then, Dresty, Vantha's brother, got married to a young and fragile woman (Reenha), who suffered from a rare respiratory illness, so they thought to move up to the Sea of Hills to let her stay away from the city life which was tiring for her weak constitution. They were welcomed to stay there and so two houses were built, connected by a low building in which a couple of bedrooms were set. The idea was that in this way, some important customers could stay in Amber Alembic overnight, so they could discuss their orders without the need to rush back home before the end of the day. The married couple brought along two servants to help the fragile lady (two huvars, Fluder, a male and Beris, a female) who started to work right away taking care of the house and of the bedrooms.

Lharsans' house is built half way along a hill on a natural plateau. When you get there, on the left you see a little river coming down from behind the hill, running along the plateau and then disappearing underground just before the end of it. At the end of the slope, Dolberius built a little basin to be able to collect water easily, without the need to kneel down. A couple of buckets are always on the ground near it. The house is two storied made out of wood and stones. It has a simple structure, but lots of windows. The main entrance it's oriented towards the North. Looking at the house, on the left there's the laboratory, which is a one storied stone building with a wooden roof and a floor of wooden planks. The alembic is in the right corner of the wall in front of the entrance. Piled up against the wall there are some logs, and a water bucket. (If we don't want to bother about the modelling of an alembic, we can simply say that you can't actually see it, because it is sheltered by a wooden wall made out of planks, as Dolberius thought better to preserve the secret of how his alembic was built, after people started to come and go all around his place). Along the side walls, pierced by wide windows, there are a lot of shelves covered with drying herbs. A couple of benches full of cups and mugs fill the central part of the room. Right at the left and the right of the door there are crates full of fresh fruits and some barrels.

At the opposite side, you can see another low building made out of stone and with a wood roof and it is where the Lharsans stock their production. On this side there's also a wooden stable in which a mule (or whatever) and an old Yiddi eat and sleep and share together the beautiful sight of the distant Alborn Forest. In the stable sleep also a young Dewar. The stable fits better to him than a house as far as he says. He got there once, while wandering along the Sea of Hills and offered his work against a couple of meals. He planned to stay there only for a few days, but then he liked the people who were living there and decided to stay longer.

Then, there are the two double storied houses connected by a one storied building. This last one has two separate entrance doors in the back, one for each room. The house on your left, standing in front of the structure, is less wide than the one on the right hand side, but it's more developed in depth. This is were the married couple and the two servants live. The one on the right hand side has two entrance doors: one leads to the tavern and to the bedrooms, the other is the main entrance of the actual house in which the two cousins live.
